NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg closed a meeting of NATO foreign ministers in Brussels on Friday. «If they could speak, these walls would have many tales to tell», said Stoltenberg, before going on to recall the first meeting of NATO foreign ministers and the creation of a document «which firmly established NATO's policy of seeking peace through deterrents and detente». To conclude, Stoltenberg reaffirmed NATO's commitment to its values and the pursuit of peace and security. Stoltenberg, alongside newly appointed US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and European Defence Ministers held talks on relations with Russia, the situation in the Middle East and NATO policy for the new members, amongst other issues.
