Belgium: Merkel and Macron leave extraordinary in-person EU summit in Brussels

German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron were seen leaving the second and final day of the extraordinary in-person EU summit, Sunday. Both leaders had theirs faces covered with face masks necessary amid the coronavirus pandemic. EU leaders met to discuss the recovery plan for the COVID-19 crisis and a new long-term EU budget. The special meeting of the European Council on July 17-18 marks the first face-to-face summit of the 27 leaders of the European Union since February.
