Belgium: Macron urges Russia to back UN vote on Ghouta

French President Emmanuel Macron urged Russia to intervene in Syria and facilitate the 30-day ceasefire at the UN while speaking in Brussels on Friday. «Our priority in Syria was the fight against Islamic terrorism,» the French President said. Regarding the situation in Eastern Ghouta, Emmanuel Macron stated that “it is necessary for Russia to intervene and I am calling upon the Syrian regime... Еще to respect these laws.» The French President carried on with saying that «Europe is a single market with a policy of reforms and solidarity, that solidarity in favour of convergence.» He stressed that: «some countries are in a more difficult situation and we shall help them bridge the gap because it is their history and they need something.» On Friday, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) will vote on a draft resolution to enact a 30-day ceasefire across Syria, which will allow emergency aid to be delivered to areas such as the Eastern Ghouta.
