Belgium: LNA's attack on Tripoli poses 'very serious threat' to intl. peace — Mogherini

«The LNA military attack on Tripoli and the subsequent escalation in and around the capital constitutes a very serious threat to international peace and security,» said EU Foreign Affairs Chief Federica Mogherini at a press conference in Brussels on Monday. Mogherini also noted that that the escalation «opens the way for terrorist activities to pose more threats to the international community... Еще, and obviously to the Libyan people.» The EU foreign affairs chief stressed that the EU «speaks with one voice on Libya,» urging all the parties to «reengage with the United Nations on the political dialogue» and «immediately implement a ceasefire and to engage with the United Nations to ensure a full and comprehensive cessation of hostilities.» Mogherini also thanked UN Secretary-General's Special Representative and Head of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salame, «for the impressive work that he and his team are still doing in Tripoli,» noting the EU's «full and determined support» for Salame's efforts in Libya.
