Ukraine's newly elected president Volodymyr Zelenskiy hold talks with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels on Tuesday, making his first foreign trip since being inaugurated as president last month.
In a press conference at the military alliance's headquarters, Stoltenberg pledged NATO's support to Ukraine over «Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.»«Allies do not and... Еще will not recognise Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea. And we condemn Russia's aggressive actions in the Black Sea region,» Stoltenberg said.
Zelenskiy on his part said that Kiev is ready to hold discussions with Moscow and to implement the Minsk accords.
The former comic actor added that Ukraine's goal is to eventually become «a fully-fledged» member of the European Union and NATO.
«I hope that in the long run, we will be able to transform our partnership into a fully-fledged alliance,» he concluded.
