Belgium: EU sets two week deadline for Britain’s Brexit talks

SOT, Michel Barnier, EU's Brexit Chief Negotiator (French): «That right, yes» Britain has been given a two-week deadline to enter the next stage of Brexit negotiations, the EU's Brexit Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier confirmed in Brussels on Friday. Barnier insisted «the United Kingdom decided to leave the (European) Union more than 500 days ago and it will be leaving the EU on the 29th of... Еще March.» He added that three main areas will be looked at «as intensely as is necessary in the weeks to come, in the run up to the next EU council meeting.» The EU 's Brexit Chief Negotiator also spoke about the urgency to «ensure a common reading» in regards to Brexit's impact on Ireland, Northern Ireland and the common area, however UK Brexit Secretary David Davis warned that the UK's negotiations on the issue, «cannot come at a cost to the constitutional and economic integrity of the UK.»
