Permanent Russian representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said that European Union sanctions against Russia have a negative effect «both on Russia and the EU member-states,» during a press-conference in Brussels on Tuesday. At the same time Chizhov noted that Moscow hasn't «closed down any channel of communication» with the European Union, adding: «actually, many of those channels are open and... Еще working. We are continuing political dialogue.» Chizhov also commented on the Iran nuclear deal, saying that Russia together with the EU is determined to preserve the agreement despite the US withdrawal. Speaking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Chizhov stressed that Russia supports the two-state solution with Jerusalem as the capital of both states. Vladimir Chizhov also commented on reports of a possible Normandy Four meeting over Ukraine, saying that such talks could be held later this month. «No particular date has been fixed yet, but this is something that needs to be worked on,» he said.
