A new exhibition that recreates the outfits of rape victims kicked off in the Molenbeek Maritime Community Centre of Brussels on Thursday. Inspired by a similar project by the University of Kansas, the exhibition tells the stories of assaulted students through an exposition of the outfits they were wearing at the time of attack. Showcased beneath the simple question of ‘What were you wearing... Еще that day?’ the outfits seek to raise awareness about the lack of correlation between what someone is wearing and the crimes of rape and sexual harassment. Organiser of the event Delphine Goossens urged people to think about the stereotypes they have about rape culture and the responsibility they put on the victim before they ask questions. «There is no outfit that can prevent a rape and/or aggression», she said. The outfits included everyday attire, a police uniform and even a children's clothing.
