Belarus: Shake it! Student invents charger powered by movement

A 19-year-old student in Minsk, Mikhail Vaga, showed off his invention — a powerbank, which uses the gyroscope and human kinetic energy to charge electronic devices. Setting up a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, to receive backing for his innovative idea, saw his project gain over $50,000 (€42,317) in two weeks. The backers already received the powerbanks from the first production run... Еще, for $79 (€66.8) apiece, and Vaga is now preparing for mass-production. Vaga explained the science behind his gadget as follows, «It actually transforms your mechanical energy into electrical energy. This energy is accumulated inside the battery, like in an ordinary powerbank. You can also charge it from rotation and then you can use this energy to charge your mobile device, or you can simultaneously spin and recharge.»
