Belarus: Russia-Belarus military drills carried out despite NATO concerns

The ZAPAD-2017 Russian-Belarus joint strategic-level military drills took place in Belorussian Ruzhanskiy range on Thursday. Over 1000 pieces of military hardware including tanks, helicopters, machine guns, rocket launchers and warships are being used in the «defensive» training exercise that will last six days. Up to 12,700 participants from both Russian and Belarusian militaries are taking... Еще part in the week-long test. NATO and neighbouring countries have raised concerns over the safety of the exercises, but have said that the drills do not pose any imminent threat to the surrounding nations. Further drills are scheduled for September 17 when the second stage of the exercise begins.
