Belarus: London ‘desperately’ trying to confirm ‘hopeless stance’ on Skripal — Lavrov

The United Kingdom is «desperately» trying to find new clarifications to support its story regarding the Skripal poisoning case, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a regular meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Minsk on Friday. Commenting on an article published in The Times, in which the British daily newspaper claims that UK intelligence officials have located the... Еще laboratory in Russia where the Novichok nerve agent was allegedly made and tested, Lavrov said that it «shows once again that they are desperately trying every day to find some new confirmation for their totally hopeless stance.» The Foreign Minister stated that if the West think that Russia will just say «sorry, we were wrong, and we will play by your rules from now on» they fail to fully understand Russia. Former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned by a nerve agent in Salisbury on March 4. The UK has blamed Moscow for the incident, while the Kremlin has denied any involvement in the affair.
