A flock of sheep took London Bridge by storm during the annual Great Ship Drive, in the UK capital, Sunday. According to the medieval custom sheep marched across the bridge, this year driven by the well-known cook, food writer and television presenter Mary Berry, who opened the ceremony. With a shepherd’s crook and accompanied by Christopher Thierry, The Master of the Worshipful Company of... Еще Woolmen, she walked the sheep flock across the London landmark. The annual sheep drive tradition dates back to the Middle Ages and marks the historical right to drive sheep over the bridge without payment of a toll. Nowadays, the ceremony, organised by the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, is held for charitable reasons and also coincides with London Wool Fair that will open nearby.
