At least 3,000 people flooded the government district of Vienna on Wednesday, to protest the formation of the Austrian government and in particular the country's far-right Freedom Party (FPO), which is currently in coalition talks with the conservative People's Party (OVP). People gathered in the Austrian capital holding candles and banners reading «Don't let the Nazis rule and never let them... Еще parade,» amongst others. «We don't want to involve extreme right-wing candidates in government — no powerful authority to right-wing extremists!» said Alexander Pollak, one of the demonstrators from the human right group SOS Mitmensch. The OVP, which named 31-year-old Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz its leader, secured victory in parliamentary elections this October with 31.4 percent of the vote. The right-wing FPO finished second, gaining 27.4 percent of the electorate.
