Austria: Russia holds first World Cup training session in Alps

Head coach Stanislav Cherchesov said striker Artem Dzuba could not join the main group on Monday and stayed at the hotel because he still felt sick, meanwhile midfielder of CSKA Moscow Alan Dzagoev trained on individual program in the gym. Villarreal midfielder Denis Cheryshev and Fenerbahce defender Roman Noishtedter, who joined the Russian national team only in Austria and missed first three practice sessions in Novogorsk, finally held their first training with the squad. Speaking to the press after the training, Midfielder of the Russian national football team and FC Dinamo Moscow Alexander Tashaev said training conditions were great for the players in Neustift, noting that despite the beautiful scenery in the Tyrol Alps nothing was distracting the team from the training process. Team doctor Eduard Bezuglov disclosed that forward Artem Dzuba was still suffering from angina follicularis and did not join the main group. The matches of the 2018 World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15 at 12 stadiums located in the 11 cities across Russia. Hosts of the Championship will start their performance in the opening match against Saudi Arabia at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. In the two other fixtures of Group A Russia will take on Egypt in St. Petersburg on June 19 and Uruguay on June 25 in Samara.
