Russian President Vladimir Putin said that all EU member states are looking to end the “harmful” sanctions against Russia even if they don’t say so publicly, speaking during a joint press-conference with Austrian President Alexander van der Bellen in Vienna on Tuesday. “Both those who initiate [sanctions] and those who these sanctions are aimed at, find them harmful. Apparently, everybody... Еще, including ourselves, are interested in their cancellation”, affirmed Putin. “Russia plans to increase gas deliveries to European consumers, including the Nord Stream-2 project and other energy and infrastructure projects which enjoy the support of Austrian partners. We will undoubtedly continue discussing this important issue with the federal chancellor of Austria as well”, he stated. On his side, Van der Bellen mentioned Russia’s importance to Austria as a trading partner.
