Austria: Child prodigy dedicates Viennese take on 'Moscow Nights' to Putin

Еще Deutscher, composer (German): «Exactly.» Russian President Vladimir Putin and Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz witnessed a musical performance by a young pianist who played a song specially composed for the Russian leader, following their meeting in Vienna on Tuesday. After the signing ceremony of Russian-Austrian agreements, pianist Alma Deutscher performed a piano composition based on the Russian song 'Moscow Nights' to the two leaders. «I would like to play a little fantasia for you. I wanted to compose something special for President Putin, but I didn't have enough time for that, because I learned about it [visit] only three days ago,» Deutscher said. She added: «So I came up with a little fantasia, a very beautiful Russian song; I also added some elements of the Viennese waltz.» Deutscher was born in Oxford in 2005. She began playing the piano at the age of two, and by the age of five, she was already composing music.
