Austria's first female chancellor Brigitte Bierlein was sworn in as the head of the interim government in Vienna on Monday and will lead the government until the slated September elections.
Bierlein, who was serving as the head of Austria's top court, addressed the media shortly after swearing in and called it «a big honour» and «a big responsibility» at the same time underlining the vision of a... Еще «strong, livable, tolerant Austria, as a reliable partner in Europe and in the world.»
Bierlein was named interim leader after Sebastian Kurz lost a confidence vote a week ago, following the collapse of the governing coalition between his People's Party and the Freedom Party in the wake of the so-called 'Ibiza-gate' corruption scandal involving former Freedom Party chief Heinz-Christian Strache.
