Australia: Zverev says pure enjoyment of the game is his mentality for success

Germany's tennis player Alexander Zverev said he wants to enjoy next week's Australian Open «as much as he can,» in order to get into the proper headspace for victory, while speaking at a press conference in Melbourne on Saturday. «I just want to enjoy playing as much as I can, and I just want to enjoy playing in the biggest stadiums, playing the biggest matches and, you know, once I learned how... Еще to really enjoy and really find fun in what I do, I think everything else will take care of itself,» he said. Zverev spoke about his previous experience playing in London, where he and other players were tired after a year of matches. He began playing terribly but then said to himself «I'm just going to enjoy this as much as I can and I'm playing the best players in the world, and I'm just going to see how it goes.» «at the end of the week I won the tournament,» he then said. Speaking about colleague and champion Andy Murray's Friday announcement that the tournament could be his last one, Zverev said: «Obviously, he's one of the best guys on tour, in and outside the court, he's always super nice to be around and super nice to be in a locker with» adding «we as players, I mean, the amount of support he got as well, you can see how much we really like and appreciate what he's done. So you know I hope he can really enjoy the last few months and, you know, just have a happy retirement.» Zverev hurt his ankle during a practice session on Thursday, but claimed this will not affect his tournament.
