Thousands rallied for a Black Lives Matter demonstration in Sydney on Sunday, to condemn police violence against indigenous Australians at the hands of police.
People marched peacefully and gathered at The Domain park to the sound of music and listened to speeches. Many had Australian Aboriginal flags to pay tribute to the continent's native population.
A ceremony joined by family members was also held to pay tribute to those who lost their lives in police custody.
Similar actions took places in other cities such as Brisbane, Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Cairns and Kempsey.
