Australia: Firefighters take stock amid raging bushfires

Firefighters were seen operating in the Blue Mountains region in New South Wales (NSW), amid the raging bushfires on Tuesday. Woodford Rural Fire Brigade firefighter Craig Patrick stated that the situation is «currently under control» and that he believes that «things should calm slightly» in the following days «It can all depend on the direction of the wind and where the weather is coming from... Еще, because the combination of the wind speed and the humidity as well as the temperature are what combined to give us the fire danger,» he added. Over 300 new fires have been recorded in NSW on Tuesday, and reports indicate that some firefighters were injured and dozen homes were damaged.
