An unauthorised rally in support of Black Lives Matter movement was shut down before it had even begun in the Domain Park in Sydney on Tuesday.
The organisation had been giving out face masks and hand sanitisers while large numbers of police ordered protesters to disperse and leave the park after which as many as 50 people including the event organiser Paddy Gibson was arrested.
«I saw a police officer without a mask on detaining an Aboriginal woman. So I was trying to figure out exactly what my instructions were. And my point was that her safety was being in danger by the police officer, who didn't have on his mask,» said Kate Wake, a protester who had been detained and subsequently released.
