Thousands of protesters rallied against the government takeover of soy bean giant Vicentin in Buenos Aires on Saturday. Some came on foot, while others participated in a car caravan.
«Justice does not exist. The courts are not open you cannot work you cannot live in a country where the only power that exists is the executive, without a congress. Justice without the division of powers is impossible,» said one protester, lawyer Susana Zuares.
The government's plan to take over the soybean processing company was stalled as a judge ruled that the ousted company executives should continue in their positions, while the government should take a supervisory role.
Earlier in June, president Alberto Fernandez announced the government will intervene to rescue the company from financial troubles.
