Argentina: Thousands of teachers demand salary bump in Buenos Aire

Thousands of teachers took the streets of the Argentine capital Buenos Aires on Wednesday to protest against the government and demand higher salaries. Teaching unions marched through holding banners and flags, calling out the government’s educational reforms. «When the right governs as they do here, we have misery, we have discrimination, we have inequality, we have dismissals, we have hunger... Еще, we have violations of human rights,» said Secretary General of the Centre for Argentina Workers, Hugo Ruben Yasky. Last week education unions rejected a 12 percent salary increase offer made by the government, claiming that it is insufficient and demanding a 24 percent increase instead.
