Thousands of protesters gathered in Vatican Square in Buenos Aires on Saturday to pay tribute to prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who had been found dead with a gunshot wound to his head in his home five years ago.
Footage shows Nisman supporters staging a rally on Tribunales in the Argentinian capital, holding signs and banners, where they demanded a fair investigation into the prosecutor's death as... Еще they were joined by some government opposition politicians.
At the time of his death, Nisman was investigating the bombing of the Argentine Jewish Mutual Aid Society (AMIA) that left 85 dead in 1994. The lawyer was reportedly about to release a 300-page report accusing former Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner and ex-Foreign Minister Hector Timerman of shielding the bombing's Iranian suspects.
The prosecutor was found dead with a bullet wound to his head and a 22-calibre handgun lying next to him in his Buenos Aires apartment. Officials say there was no evidence that anyone else had been involved in the death and concluded it was self-inflicted. The Nisman family launched a private investigation in March 2015, which concluded that the death was, in fact, a homicide.
