Speaking on the political unrest in Chile, Lopez expressed support of «the legitimate claim of the people of Chile to protest against inequalities and injustices and reject the violent repression of social mobilization by judicial forces and human rights violations.»
Lopez also expressed the Puebla group's approval of Brazilian former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's release from prison.
