Hundreds marched from Plaza de Mayo to the Congress of the Argentine Nation in Buenos Aires on Saturday to call for the acquittal of Dr. Leandro Rodriguez Lastra who is accused of halting an abortion in May 2017.
Protesters marched while holding up pictures of Lastra and blue handkerchiefs, representing their pro-life stance.
Lastra, whose trail started in Rio Negro Province in May, had... Еще reportedly stopped the abortion procedure for a 19-year-old who was suffering from severe abdominal pain due to consuming misoprostol, a drug administered by an abortion group.
According to Rio Negro Province laws, Lastra's actions are being treated as a breach of protocol of non-punishable abortion as the patient in question had been raped.
«They consider that having received a patient whose life was in danger and not putting her life in even more danger that could lead her to death, that is a crime for this judge,» said Lastra who was at the march.
