The Olympic Village opened its door to thousands of young people competing in the Youth Games 2018 on Wednesday. The facility in Villa Soldati, a suburb of Buenos Aires, will host 3998 athletes competing in 32 disciplines. For a little more than two weeks, it will be a small city where dozens of languages are spoken. «The Olympic Village is super nice like the real Olympic Games. I really didn... Еще't expect such a level. We're very happy to be here, living this moment that we will never be able to repeat again,» Spanish athlete Maria Vicente said, praising the host nation. Gold medal-winning Russian athlete Georgy Popov was similarly impressed. «The Olympic Village is well organised. There are a lot of zones where you can play and distract yourself from the competitions, to meet new people, to converse with somebody. The rooms are really good. Nothing is redundant here.» Current Argentine President Mauricio Macri led the city's bid when he was mayor in 2013.
