Argentina: Mothers of Plaza de Mayo hold last anti-Macri march in Buenos Aires

The Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo held a final march against outgoing Argentinian President Mauricio Macri in Buenos Aires on Saturday. Members of the group and hundreds of its supporters marched around the Plaza with banners celebrating love over hate and listened to speeches condemning Macri. Mothers of Plaza de Mayo is an association of mothers whose children vanished during the reign of the... Еще military dictatorship between 1976 and 1983. The marches of the resistance became an annual event in 1981. «We have won. We have won a small battle but we have not won the war,» said one of the group's co-founders Hebe de Bonafini. The group has held protests against Macri's administration since he took office in 2015, having not protested between 2006 and 2015 under Nestor Kirchner's and Cristina Fernandez's governments as 'the enemy was no longer in the Casa Rosada.' Macri lost his bid for re-election in October to Alberto Fernandez, and his running mate Cristina Fernandez, and will thus leave office on December 10, with the Mothers set to suspend their protests once again.
