Argentina and Russia «share a strong commitment» to multilateralism and to fighting against organised crime, drug traffic and terrorism, said Argentine President Mauricio Macri while delivering a joint statement with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin after a bilateral meeting in Buenos Aires on Saturday.
«It's been the third meeting over the last three years, which shows the level of the... Еще interest in developing this relationship — both for Argentina and Russia,» Macri said.
He also noted that the governments of the two countries are determined «to make our regions even closer,” adding that both sides are interested in an agreement between the Mercosur trade bloc and the Eurasian Economic Union.
For his part, Putin congratulated the Argentine president with the successful G20 summit, praising its «very friendly atmosphere.»
Commenting on the results of the bilateral meeting, Putin said that they “just signed many agreements between the governments and departments of both countries as well as commercial deals. This demonstrates that both sides are willing to strengthen Russian-Argentine relations in all the spheres.»
