Students, state workers, teachers unions as well as Left wing figures joined the protest and were headed for the National Congress to present a law bill for expropriation of the factory, until they were blocked by police, leading to minor scuffles. PepsiCo announced the sudden closure of its Buenos Aires factory last Wednesday, leading to the dismissal of 691 employees
