Football legend Diego Maradona was reported to be recovering after a successful brain surgery in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.
«The surgery lasted for about an hour and 20 minutes. The chronic subdural haematoma was taken out successfully. Diego tolerated the surgery very well and the truth is that Diego is awake. Everything is very well,» Maradona's personal physician Leopoldo Luque told journalists outside Olivos Clinic in the Argentinian capital.
Dozens of fans gathered outside the building to show their support for one of the game's greatest superstars.
Maradona last appeared on public in La Plata on Friday as he turned 60. He left the game between his club Gimnasia y Esgrima and Patronato before the end of the first half.
