Argentine Health Minister Gines Gonzalez Garcia confirmed the first case of coronavirus in the country at a press conference in Buenos Aires on Tuesday.
«The man was in several places in Europe, but mainly in northern Italy. He is a man, a passenger who traveled in first class, which limits a little the close contact [with other people], and he is a passenger who arrived and complied with all... Еще the rules,» Gonzalez said.
The minister also stated that he understood the «fear» generated by the disease, but wanted to clarify that there is no reason for social alarm since «it is a disease that in most cases does not require hospitalization» and «will not become widespread» so it is important to give «the importance that it has».
According to the latest reports from the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), there have been at least 90,000 infections and more than 3,100 deaths related to COVID-19.
