The body of former Argentina's president Fernando de la Rua, who died aged 81 of complications after suffering cardiac problems on Tuesday, was laid to rest in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
Following a wake held at the National Congress, the remains of the former president were escorted by grenadiers on horseback in procession to the Pilar Memorial Cemetery.
Family members, friends, colleagues... Еще from the whole political spectrum and party colleagues of the Radical Civic Union (UCR) also were seen at the funeral.
De la Rua's presidency ended prematurely in 2001 after serving only half of his four-year term, when he boarded a helicopter and left the Presidential Palace amid the riots caused by the country's economic crisis.
The country had four different presidents in the following two weeks.
The government has declared three days of national mourning.
