Thousands marched through the streets of Buenos Aires on Thursday, demanding the release of imprisoned political activists, Cesar Arakaki and Ponce Dimas.
The protesters marched with signs and banners while chanting slogans for the freedom of the two political prisoners, who are both members of the ‘Workers Party’.
For Margarita Cruz, member of the 'Asociacion de ex detenidos desaparecidos... Еще' [Association of Former Disappeared] (AEDD) the imprisonment of political activists is a «repressive escalation of the government of Mauricio Macri and his associates.»
«We also denounce that once again they [the government] refuse to release all detainees with the argument that they could then hinder the investigation of their cases», she added.
The march started at Plaza del Congreso and ended at the headquarters of the Government House in Plaza de Mayo.
Cesar Arakaki and Ponce Dimas were imprisoned during massive protests against the reform of pensions on December 14.
