Albania: Swiss rescue dogs help search for quake survivors in Durres

A team of rescue dogs belonging to the Swiss Association for Search and Rescue Dogs (REDOG) could be seen helping the search for survivors in the Albanian city of Durres on Wednesday, after the earthquake that hit the city on Tuesday. Jaffa, a 6-years-old Brittany dog, could be spotted going around a destroyed building, trying to find people that might be alive and trapped under the rubble... Еще. According to the rescue organisation, dogs are the only accurate way of finding survivors, that is why REDOG alongside another Turkish organisation (GEA REDOG), have been deployed to assist in the search missions. At least 25 people died and 650 more were injured in the strongest earthquake to hit Albania in decades. The epicentre of the earthquake was near the town of Thumane, north of Durres and Tirana.
