Albania: Survivors of deadly quake spend night in tents at Durres stadium

Survivors of deadly earthquake were seen spending a night at a stadium in Durres, where tents were set up, on Tuesday. The 6.4-magnitude earthquake that happened the same day killed at least 21 and injured more than 600 people. People were seen warming themselves with blankets, with some sleeping outside the tents, as thousands had lost their homes. «We lost our houses. And now [we are... Еще] sleeping here and [it is] very, very cold. And [we are] sad,» said Silver, one of the locals. One of the volunteers, Luka lamented «really» bad conditions adding: «It is really cold here. We have tried all of the evening to give to the people warm clothes, etc, to be to warm, but it is still very bad. The state hasn't [declared] the state of emergency, a call of emergency. We don't know why.» The epicentre of the earthquake was registered to be close to the town of Thumane, located to the north of Durres and Tirana. The quake struck shortly before 04:00 am local time (03:00 GMT) and could be felt in the surrounding countries. Several aftershocks were also reported.
