Thousands of people took to the streets of Tirana on Saturday as part ongoing demonstrations against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government.
Protesters can be seen hurling what appear to be Molotov cocktails, fireworks, and other projectiles at police and towards government buildings, while police in riot gear attempted to maintain order with tear gas and water cannons. Democratic Party... Еще President Lulzim Basha addressed protesters during the demonstration.
The anti-government demonstrations have been going on since February 2019, with protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama over corruption charges and failure to fulfil economic promises, and for fresh elections to take place.
Rama has reportedly rejected the resignation calls and refused to allow early elections.
