Thousands of opposition supporters continued to protest against the Albanian government in central Tirana, on Monday, in what is a second protest in a row, after the government's demolition of the crumbling Albanian National Theatre.
Footage shows the protesters waving Albanian flags, holding placards, and chanting against the government and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The construction of... Еще the theatre began in 1938 with the arrival of Italian fascist forces in Albania. Since its announcement two years ago, the proposed demolition has been at the heart of many heated political debates between the ruling party and the opposition.
The ruling party has already approved the construction of a modern theatre at the same spot. Meanwhile, opposition leader Lulzim Basha urged the opposition to try and topple Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama with a new wave of protests.
