A suicide bomber using a vehicle targeted a convoy from the Afghan police forces in Kuz Kunar in the Nangarhar province on Tuesday morning.
The car bomb killed four police offices, including a highly ranked police commander and wounded 11 more, nine of which were civilians and two more members of the police.
The commander was identified as Mir Zaman and the other three deceased were his bodyguards. No group has yet taken responsibility for the attack which took place in a local market.
«We were at work at the time that I heard the big blast, then the people were leaving the area, there were many dead and wounded people that were laying on the ground, our shops were destroyed too,» explained local witness Niamatullah.
Footage highlights the remaining wreckage after the suicide attack, as well as interviews with witnesses and the injured after they were moved to Jalalabad hospital.
The same district was attacked in May when a suicide bomber representing the Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) killed 32 and injured 133 more at the funeral of a pro-government commander.
