Armed men wearing police uniforms attacked a hospital in Kabul on Tuesday, setting off a gun battle with Afghan government forces.
At least five people had been killed, including three women and a child, according to local reports.
The Afghan Interior Ministry said at least 80 patients were evacuated and some people remained trapped in the public hospital, where Doctors Without Borders runs a... Еще maternity clinic.
The government also confirmed that the attack was carried out by at least three gunmen throwing grenades and shooting guns. Black smoke can still be seen coming out of the hospital.
In recent months, there have been a number of deadly attacks in Kabul claimed by the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL).
