Afghanistan: One civilian killed, others injured in Afghan-foreign airstrikes against IS — official

Civilians reportedly injured in joint Afghan-foreign airstrikes against the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS; formerly ISIS/ISIL) were treated at a hospital in Jalalabad, Tuesday. Officials confirmed that 13 civilians were injured and one killed during operations in the Haska Mina district a day earlier. One resident from Haska Mina stated that those conducting the airstrikes «are very foolish... Еще as they don't know the [difference between] militants and civilians.» He stressed, «we don't know who our enemies are: Americans, the government, the Taliban or IS.» Although one resident stated that three people had been killed in the operations, provincial governor spokesperson Attaullah Khogyani confirmed that 13 civilians had been injured and one killed during the strikes. The spokesperson also reported that over 60 IS militants were killed in the operation, noting that civilians had been affected since «militants use civilian's houses as their strongholds.»
