Afghanistan: Hundreds of Afghans take to streets in solidarity with Rohingya Muslims

Hundreds of Afghans took to the streets of Jalalabad in eastern Afghanistan to show their support for Rohingya Muslims, Friday. The protesters held banners reading «Where is the UN?» and «Stop killing Burma's [Myanmar’s] Muslims», while chanting slogans condemning the Myanmar Army’s military operations and oppression of the Rohingya. Violence erupted in Myanmar on August 25 when suspected Rohingya fighters attacked police posts in Rakhine State. Since then an estimated 270,000 Rohingya have fled the country, according to the UN's refugee agency.
