While most gunfire and explosion have subsided at the site of a car bomb explosion in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad, clashes were still ongoing between Afghan security forces and attackers outside the Save the Children international aid group building on Wednesday. Footage showed smoke rising from the building as military forces stood on patrol. Jalalabad residents had heard gunfire... Еще followed by the explosion as assailants laid siege on the building. One said, «They killed shopkeepers, here in the area several residents were martyred, the situation is bad.» Three gunmen were reportedly involved in the attack. Officials have confirmed two deaths and 12 wounded so far. The self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) group has claimed responsibility for the attack. This is the second major militant attack in Afghanistan within the last few days. A 12-hour siege resulted in at least 22 people killed at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Kabul over the weekend.
