The aftermath of the 12-hour siege in which at least 22 people died at the weekend in the Inter-Continental Hotel in Kabul was seen, Tuesday. One survivor explained that the attackers had started shooting people inside the restaurant. “I was the first one to go through the ballroom and I went all the way to the fourth floor and we were hiding ourselves there, we were 15 people inside the room... Еще and five of us got killed and we survived. We moved from one balcony to the next balcony. That’s how we survived,» he said. “A lot of people who I had met inside Inter- Continental hotel got killed in front of me,» he added. “How could they come with machine guns, grenades, explosives, that’s what I don’t understand, and that has to be investigated, because a lot of people lost their life. They said they only killed foreigners but that’s not true,» said the survivor. «It was 14 hours of hell,» he said. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, which began on Saturday evening, saying five gunmen wearing suicide vests targeted foreigners and Afghan officials. The US State Department said multiple American citizens were numbered among the casualties.
