As a heatwave hit Rome this week, animals at the Bioparco Zoo located in the Italian capital were treated to frozen ice-lollies, Friday, in a bid to cool them down.
The tigers at the zoo got their paws on large popsicles filled with red meat. Frozen fish was on the menu for the seals, whilst the vegetarian lemurs tucked into fruit-based popsicles filled with yoghurt.
Not only did the frozen... Еще snacks help to cool the animals down, they were also a distraction from the hot weather. President of the Bioparco Foundation Federico Coccia explained «in this way they are busy all day, and, by being distracted, they are able to better deal with the heatwave.»
Alongside the frozen feast, the animals were supplied with shade and water to help them cope with the heat.
